Bible with Family Register
Early: 1805 - Late: 1805
A German-language family Bible containing family records and fraktur birth records. It is a leather-bound book with brass clasps. The book contains frakturs, a papercut, a Family Register, and handwritten family records. The fraktur was made by teacher/fraktur artist, Jacob Shoemaker, and is signed and dated 1821. The Bible was published in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
The Bible was likely purchased in Pennsylvania before the family began their long trek to Canada in 1807.
