Deed 359 dated March 27, 1827 between Philip Steel and Priscilla, his wife, of the Borough of Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania; and, John Eby, Halton County, Upper Canada. The sum of $50 was paid for land in Waterloo Township, 100 acres adjoining lands of David Eby and Jacob Snider being the same plantation of which Francis Steel died seized intestate to whom ... Philip (his brother) is the only heir .... The document was witnessed by Frederick Boyers, J.E. Scott and George Eby, Christian Wolff and John Findlay, Jr.
