Shantz, Jacob B.
Early: 1880 - Late: 1898
A ledger containing financial transactions (personal expenses, farming and teamster expenses or receipts) and farming records (amounts yielded from different fields, sales of horses, etc.). There is no indication of ownership, but this is possibly the account book kept by Jacob B. Shantz, the son of Jacob Y. Shantz, who lived on the family farm, while his father, Jacob Y., ran his button business in Berlin. There is a record of rent paid to Jacob Y. Shantz, which suggests that this is a likely scenario. Entries cover years 1880 to 1898.
