Windsor Side Chair
Schneider, Samuel B.
Early: 1840 - Late: 1860
It is a simple rod-back Windsor side chair with simple flat curved rail and bamboo-style details on the side supports of the back and the legs. The plank seat is of pine and the legs have an impressive sleigh giving the chair extra stability. It likely was once painted black and stencilled and or handpainted and lined in the traditional way. This chair has in recent years been stripped and finished.
The chair could well have come from the Joseph Schneider Haus through Samuel B. Schneider's line.
